Whilst Greenhills Lodge has been part of the Murwillumbah community for many years, UPA is frequently investing in upgrading our homes to ensure our resident’s enjoy modern, well-equipped facilities. What hasn’t changed is the convenient location to Murwillumbah’s CBD, Murwillumbah Hospital and the beautiful views of the Tweed Valley – a benefit of its location high on the banks of the Tweed River.
The unique design of Greenhills fosters a strong sense of independence. All of the rooms have a lovely outlook over the grounds or surrounding environment. Each room has a private ensuite. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to further develop their sense of home. An integrated nurse call system ensures that help is on hand when required.
A new Health and Wellbeing Room has been a welcome addition at Greenhills Lodge. Residents have been enjoying a variety of pampering and therapeutic services delivered including; hairdressing, massages, aromatherapy etc.
The leisure and lifestyle team are dedicated to ensuring that the residents voice is heard in developing the monthly program. Residents frequently enjoy bus trips out and about to various locations of interest. Many of the residents maintain strong community links and the convenient location assists this. A bus stop is located beside the lodge, facilitating transport around the local community.
Residents with more complex clinical care needs are supported by our Clinical Nurse Specialist, who ensures their care needs are identified and develops a comprehensive care plan reflecting those needs. Part of the support may involve liaison with other health professionals and facilitating external appointments for ongoing health management. An onsite Physiotherapist is part of team at Greenhills, and other Allied Health professional can be engaged as required.
- Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD): – This is commonly referred to as the “bond” and is determined by Centrelink and based on the assessment of your income and assets. The full RAD for Greenhills Lodge is $450,000.
- Daily Fee – The daily fee for full residential aged are at UPA facilities is set at 85% of the basic pension. This is indexed by the Government and is increased twice a year, when the pension is increased. Please refer to Fees & Charges page for information about aged care costs.
