Myoora Independent Living (Self Care) is located in the rural community of Henty. Myoora offers 13 – 2 bedroom units. Each unit is a single story structure with easy maintenance gardens both at the front and rear of the property. The units are located next door to the Health Service and Residential Aged Care facility.
Henty is a farming community with good amenities. It is famous for the Henty Machinery Field Days held in September each year. Local attractions are Header Museum, Henty Historical Village Walk, Model Cars, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, and bowling club. It boasts a good local shopping centre and only 45 mins drive to larger regional centres at Albury and Wagga.
Myoora Self Care is part of the Riverina Murray Region of the United Protestant Association of New South Wales. A not-for-profit provider of aged care services, operating five retirement villages, six residential aged care facilities and providing aged care support services across southern NSW and the Border.
- Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD): – This is commonly referred to as the “bond” and is determined by Centrelink and based on the assessment of your income and assets. The full RAD for Myoora Self Care & Homestead is $220,000.
- Daily Fee – The daily fee for full residential aged are at UPA facilities is set at 85% of the basic pension. This is indexed by the Government and is increased twice a year, when the pension is increased.

A modern country homestead set in well established gardens provides the perfect rural setting for UPA’s Myoora Hostel in Henty. It has 21 beds in a comfortable homely setting. All rooms have an ensuite and most provide direct access to the gardens. Myoora’s living and entertainment areas are on one level allowing easy access and mobility. Home cooked meals are provided in a spacious dining room.
The Hostel provides 24 hour care by well trained staff and is joined to the new Henty Hospital which enhances the care given.
The Myoora Homestead is a short walk into the town centre and is supported by strong local community interest.
