Serviced Apartments (Residential Care)
Many of us will use residential care at some point in our lives.
In the late 1940’s UPA recognised the need for low cost
accommodation as people who experienced the depression and two
world wars found themselves facing retirement with little or no
resources. Comfortable one and two bedroom units were designed
and built in most Districts. As time progressed, residential care
facilities such as the Thomas Agst Clinic, Melrose, The Laurels
and Murray Vale were established. With strong local support and
capital funding from the Commonwealth we saw our aged residential
care work grow significantly from the 1970’s on.
Today we
operate 615 low care places and 29 high care places across 16 facilities
throughout UPA.
Our record for provision of quality care throughout all services
is consistently recognised by the Aged Care Standards Agency with
auditors complimenting our Care Managers and staff on their work.
Skilled and dedicated staff embrace the mission and values of
UPA as they offer clinical and personal care services, medication
supervision and the right of choice for residents in their care
needs. An independent lifestyle for the individual is encouraged. Daily
living skills are enhanced through programs of gentle exercise,
mental stimulation, social interaction and entertainment.
Privacy for each resident is offered within a caring and understanding
atmosphere and all residents are treated with due respect and dignity.
UPA is committed to deliver excellence in care services based
on Christian values and continuous quality improvement.
