Melrose Self Care Units - Jacaranda Lodge & Wattle Lodge

At Melrose, our self-care units ensure that you are able to retain your independence as well as have the privacy and freedom of your own home. These units are great for those who are able to look after themselves and want the security of living within a caring environment but don-t want the inconvenience of property maintenance.

Residents occupy the independent living units under a formal agreement which ensures security of tenure.

Residents are required to pay an affordable fortnightly fee which covers all expenses other than electricity, telephone and personal keep. Our entry contribution arrangements are very reasonable and flexible - we endeavour to negotiate an arrangement to suit each individual.

All our units have 2 bedrooms with open plan living and include kitchen, large bathroom and laundry, balconies and access to a carport. Each unit features modern finishes such as stone bench tops, stainless steel appliances and soft-close drawers.

For your peace of mind, all our units feature a 24-hour, onsite monitored emergency call button, smoke detectors and fire safety equipment.

External maintenance of the units and gardens is looked after by village staff so that you have more time to enjoy all the social and recreational activities available within the village as well as your own interests.

The village bus here at Melrose is utilised for our self care residents and regular bus trips to local shopping centres as well as day excursions are organised.

Meals can be provided to self care residents at a nominal charge if required, and self care residents are actively encouraged to participate in all activities and outings organised for the Hostel residents.
The availability of ongoing care here at Melrose, with our hostel and special care unit, is also a feature of our units.

Services such as cleaning, community care, dining, weekly shopping and laundry facilities are also available on request at reasonable prices. All our self-care units in our village have the following quality inclusions:
