Melrose Lodge - Hostel & Dementia Specific Care

Melrose Village is set in 3.2 hectares of landscaped gardens in Pendle Hill, centrally located between Blacktown and Parramatta and about 25 kms north west from the Sydney CBD.

Pendle Hill local shopping centre is just a short walk from the village where you will find many restaurants and cafes, grocery store and specialty stores . Pendle Hill railway station is just 200 metres from the Village and the local bus services operate just outside our doorstep. Major transport corridors are the M2, M4 and M7motorways, the Great Western Highway, James Ruse Drive, Cumberland Highway and Old Windsor Road.

Historic Parramatta is only 10 minutes drive or a short bus or train trip away where you will find some of the oldest settlement buildings left standing in Australia. It is also home to the largest Westfield shopping centre in NSW, offering quality shopping, dining and entertainment. At Melrose there are a range of social programmes and activities available as well as several spacious lounge areas, sunny courtyards, large outdoor balcony and an activities room complete with PC's for internet and computer use. Drop in and have a cuppa in our Jasmine Tea Room or relax and read a book from our well-stocked library.

This style of accommodation is for people who need minimal assistance but do not require full-time nursing support. Resident rooms in our Jasmine Wing are spacious, individual rooms with lots of natural light and all have an ensuite bathroom. All rooms have emergency call buttons provided in bedrooms and bathrooms, ensuring that assistance is on hand 24 hours a day.

Entertainment, activities and trips are all on offer. There is always something happening and family and friends are welcome to join in.

For those requiring extra care, Melrose offers a dementia wing which provides a stimulating yet secure environment for those residents requiring such specialised care. The care staff are specially trained to ensure that resident safety is maximised without compromising their enjoyment of life and are on duty 24 hours a day.

Lavender Wing has a central dining area and lounge area. There is also an enclosed outdoor area where residents can sit and enjoy the gardens and our bird aviary.

This wing offers a safe environment and peace of mind, as both the facility and the surrounding grounds are fully secured with keypad entry and exit.

Our dementia care gives residents the best quality life in a safe and supportive environment.

Respite Care provides short-term care providing a much needed break for carers, either on a planned or emergency basis. You may have up to 63 days respite in a financial year. One unit in each wing is reserved for respite care.

Our ongoing fees are set by the Commonwealth Government at 85% of the Age Pension. Where a resident has non-pension income in excess of the Government threshold the resident is also required to contribute 25% of that additional income.

There aren't any pre-determined, fixed entry contributions. Every prospective resident is considered individually and arrangements determined that reflect his/her own personal circumstances. Those without means are not required to make a contribution. It must be emphasised however that where a resident does pay us a contribution the maximum amount retained by us is limited by Government regulation.
