Hillcrest Village Opens
On Saturday 19th September on a beautiful sunny day, the official opening ceremony for Hillcrest Village took place. The UPA Board was in attendance along with UPA members, and residents from both Hillcrest Village and Kennett Home. Sharon Bird, the Honourable Member for Cunningham was present. Also present were representatives from the Architects, Allen Jack & Cottier, and Zadro the Builder, along with many contractors involved in the construction of the village. A number of other friends and guests also attended.

We gave a special welcome to our newest residents, Gwen and Adrian Manuel from Engadine, they will be moving into unit number 17 in a few weeks time.

The welcoming address was given by Graham Chegwidden, President of the UPA Sydney South District Executive. Alistair Carlin, District Manager for UPA Sydney South spoke on the history of the project and our hopes for the future. Alistair acknowledged and thanked all those involved in the project.

Sharon Bird, Honourable member for Cunningham gave an address and praised the quality and the beauty of the village. Greame Ratten, a member of the UPA Sydney South District, District Executive gave a prayer of Dedication. Bruce Tutty, UPA State President gave an address and performed the Official Opening Ceremony.

Guests were invited to have a look around the village and enjoy afternoon tea.

The planning for the Opening Ceremony paid off, everyone involved should be congratulated.

How could we fail, the weather was perfect and the village looked magnificent.
