Respite Support Service
The Respite Support Service is part of the Australian Governments' National Respite for Carers program. Its role is to provide a single point of contact for Carers requiring information on or assistance with accessing respite within the Mid North Coast region.
This service assists anyone who provides regular support to a relative or friend who has a disability, a chronic, terminal or mental illness, or who is frail aged or has dementia by providing;
- short-term, planned and/or emergency respite
- payment of respite, when needed, on a short term or occasional basis
- information on respite options and ongoing support
- An after hours on call service for Carers who are in crisis or have an emergency
Information Support Service (Carelink)
The Information Support service offers a one stop shop for information about Health and Community Services on the Mid North Coast. It provides a variety of information about the following services;
- household help
- home modifications and maintenance
- personal care, nursing care
- respite care
- transport, meals services
- social support, day activities and much more.
Staff at the centre can tell you about services covering your area, their eligibility criteria, how to contact them and costs associated with receiving services.
By phoning Freecall 1800 052 222 you will connect you to your local Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre. If you require information on services in another area it is possible to transfer your call to any other centre across Australia at no cost.
