Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre

If you are a resident of the Far North Coast and looking for information on community, health, aged care and disability services or are a carer in need of a break from the caring role, the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre (CRCC) is the place to call.

Information Support Service

The Centre provides a variety of information related to services such as in-home assistance for persons who are aged or with a disability; transport, meals, home modifications, concessions, social support, respite, day activities; packaged support plus a range of other community and health services. Staff at the Centre can tell you about services in the Far North Coast, including how to contact them, eligibility criteria and if there are any costs involved. The Staff can also transfer you to other Centres throughout Australia if you require information about another area.

Carer Respite and Support

People caring for a person who is frail aged, has a dementia, disability, mental, chronic or terminal illness can access short-term and emergency respite through the Centre. The Centre provides information on respite options, helps carers access planned respite, purchases short-term respite and works closely with other respite services to improve coordination of respite regionally. The Centre staff can assist carers with booking respite in an aged care facility and provides a 24 hr after hours on call service for carers who have an emergency.
