Woodlands Lodge

Located within the grounds of Woodlands Village is our residential aged care facility named Woodlands Lodge, which offers 24 hour care to 72 residents.

Woodlands Lodge is a low-care facility.

Woodlands Lodge is proud to have achieved 44/44 in the Accreditation Audits carried out in 1997, 2002 and 2005.

2005-2006 has seen extensive building and refurbishment work undertaken at Woodlands Lodge.

This work has seen the addition of a new eight room wing and the inclusion of our Valley View wing into Woodlands Lodge.

Woodlands Lodge has several different styles of rooms all with external access and 17 rooms have balconies offering an additional area for relaxing and letting the world go by.

We are thrilled to be able to offer residential accommodation and care to “couples” who wish to remain together – a unique unit which has a kitchenette, en-suite, and 2 individual rooms that can used as a sitting room & bedroom or two bedrooms.

We have a dementia specific unit offering specialized care to those residents suffering dementia.

We offer a wide selection of meals over a four week rotating menu and all meals are cooked daily on-site.

We provide breakfast, lunch and tea – these are served in our two dining areas.

Morning and afternoon tea are served daily in our main lounge/activity area.

There are other communal spots within the Lodge that allow people to gather in comfort and socialize.

There is a comprehensive program of social activities – including such things as art classes (very popular), craft classes, entertainment from local school groups, musicians, dance groups, bus outings, movie afternoons, bingo (very very popular – with great prizes), poetry readings, arm-chair traveling and many more. There is something for everyone.

We are supported by our local clergy who provide a church service every Sunday on a rotating basis.

The public library supplies us with books (many in large print) and these are routinely changed every few months.

We have a hairdressing salon within Woodlands Lodge and our hairdresser comes two days a week every week.

We have a wonderful band of volunteers who compliment the work of our staff and assist in providing special care to our residents.

We have established an easy walking grade pathway around Woodlands Lodge which is accessible for all residents to enjoy a leisurely stroll in the fresh air and enjoy the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Internal lifts mean that no one has to worry about stairs.
